Hi! When you get in touch with us via email, Instagram Direct Message or Facebook Messenger, we aim to get back to you within 24 hours. To book an appointment you can click 'Book Now' on our Facebook page, click 'Book' on our Instagram page, or visit our website. We can also send you the link to our booking system when you first get in contact with us if that's easier. All of the details and prices of our services are listed on there, so you have all the information upfront - there will never be any hidden charges or a minimum spend to surprise you - we just don't think it's fair! Your first meeting with us will be your free consultation at our studio - come in, make yourself at home on the sofa - we will discuss with you any ideas, themes, colours etc for your shoot, and answer any questions you have. We will also provide you with a free welcome pack all about us and what we do to take home, and we will agree on a venue for your shoot - either in our studio or on location. This is also your chance to meet us both and decide whether we are the right photographers for you, and if you're happy to go ahead and book with us - we won't be offended if you decide not to! We can recommend alternative professional photographers if we don't offer the type of shoot you're looking for.

Yay! What happens next? A deposit is payable on booking to reserve your shoot with us - unfortunately due to people letting us down repeatedly, this deposit is non refundable, but it is taken off your total session fee. This deposit varies depending on which package you choose, and is listed clearly on our booking form. Your deposit or even full payment can be made online, either through PayPal or with a debit or credit card using our secure payment system powered by Stripe. Wedding deposits are payable by cash, credit or debit card at your consultation, or BACS transfer when you receive your contract. We'll send you two copies of this contract by first class post with a paid envelope to return our copy when you've signed both. Your date is not secure until you have paid your deposit and we have received your signed contract.


We need to receive payment in full before or on the day of your appointment. You can do this when you book online by PayPal or card, or in cash or by card when you arrive for your appointment. Our booking system automatically sends confirmation when we receive your payment. Wedding packages must be paid in full at least 30 days prior to the wedding day. We will send you receipts when your payment arrives in our account. If a payment plan has been agreed, you must make payments on time - the best way to do this is to set up a standing order. All of our prices include travel expenses in the UK - any overseas travel expense must be met by the client.


It's time for your shoot... please arrive on time for your appointment - we're usually pretty busy, and if you arrive more than 10 minutes late we will have to cancel your slot - we can only re-book your appointment once. If you don't arrive on time for this second booking we reserve the right to refuse to make a third appointment, and you will lose your deposit. Now for the boring part - the contract. Our contracts are pretty simple to understand, and we will make sure you have a copy to take home. If you would like more information on any of the terms in our contract, we will be happy to explain it all to you. For wedding bookings, we will arrive wherever your bridal preparation is taking place, or at your venue at the time we've agreed with you, and we will stay until the end of the night, or until a time we've agreed with you.


We will post a preview from your shoot on our Facebook and Instagram pages - you are quite welcome to say no to this during the booking service by opting out - we are very aware of safeguarding issues and our clients' privacy is important to us. You are also welcome to share this preview on your social media, but the image(s) must not be cropped to remove the watermark or altered in any way, and if you could tag us when you share it that would be awesome. Once the shoot or wedding day has taken place, your images will be professionally edited and sent to you via email in a password protected digital gallery in high resolution, with downloads enabled, within 4 weeks. Images from this digital gallery can be downloaded and shared on social media, but can't be printed out at your local printers, or the Kodak machine at Boots - more on this later. This digital gallery will be available for one calendar month for you to download your images. After this time we store all of our images on several backup systems, one of which is isolated from the internet - this makes sure your images are safely stored for future use. Images must not be altered or cropped in any way - there isn't much point paying for professional photography, and then slapping an Instagram filter over it. It makes our work look bad, and in turn affects our reputation as photographers - any unauthorised use of our images in this way will be seen as a known breach of copyright, and we will charge a fee of £5 per image per use if this breach occurs. All images remain the intellectual property of J&A Photography.


All prints and printed products must be ordered and paid for through J&A Photography - we do not offer a print release, so any unauthorised printing of our images will be seen as a known breach of copyright. This is so we can control the quality of our work - we order prints from a professional print lab which is not accessible to the general public. High Street printers generally do not have the capability to show our work at it's best. All print companies know they must have a print release to use our work - if they don't they could face a fine, or even be shut down by Trading Standards. Prints and printed products are ordered on a Monday once full payment has been made - payment plans are available - we'll order your prints and print products once full payment has been made. If you have chosen a package which includes prints or print products these will be ordered on the first Monday after your gallery is delivered and you've picked the images you'd like for your prints or products. We will contact you as soon as your items arrive, and arrange an appointment for you to pick them up from the studio. Alternatively we can post items out, but there may be an extra charge for postage. If you have opted for a wedding package which includes a wedding album, we will invite you back to the studio for your free design consultation where we will help you to choose which images you'd like.


If you do need to cancel your appointment please let us know as soon as possible - remember your deposit is non refundable - being parents to tiny people we realise sometimes things happen that are out of your control, so we're happy to rearrange your shoot once, as long as you give us more than 24 hours notice. If you cancel your shoot with less than 24 hours notice, unfortunately we won't be able to reschedule and you will lose your deposit. Another deposit will be payable to book another session with us. Cancelling your wedding booking: - Within 30 days of signing contracts - full refund of any money paid - More than 12 months before the wedding - deposit non refundable, all further payments refunded - More than 6 months before the wedding - deposit non refundable, 50% of remaining balance payable THAT'S ALL FOLKS Phew, thanks for sticking with us for all of that!
